Resumo
Qualquer que seja a direção da pesquisa sobre história do direito em perspectiva comparada, ela pode ser facilitada por um punhado de etapas metodológicas extraídas tanto do direito comparado quanto da história do direito. Este artigo discute as fronteiras, a terminologia e a finalidade da metodologia e um conjunto de cinco etapas metodológicas que podem auxiliar na prática da história do direito em perspectiva comparada, utilizando exemplos de diversos sistemas jurídicos dos últimos 200 anos.
