So if you’re going to supplement your child’s diet, it’s imperative to choose a multivitamin designed for their needs. Since children don’t have the same nutritional needs as adults, it’s best to avoid giving them adult multis.If you choose to have your child take vitamins, at age 14 they should probably switch to an adult formula. That is the age when the Recommended Dietary Allowances take a big jump.

Children’s vitamins can provide extra nutrition and fill in the gaps in your child’s diet, but they may not be best to take during adulthood unless your doctor recommends it.
